Errr... Hi

Miss me?

After (an uncalled-for) summer hiatus that seemed to last forever, I'm happy to say that I'm back! Blame my freakin' laptop for dying on me and having to stay at the repair service for 2+ months...

I know, IT SUCKED!!!

Spending time at home with no internet service was quite challenging- although I must admit, taking a break from online things had its moments; I finished some books I've been wanting to read since for-everrr, bonded with my two dogs (nope, they wouldn't let me adopt this cute kitty), plus I found a new hobby: comic books* !

Anyhoo, expect to see -or rather, read- more of this little lady the following days!
I've missed you guys so much!!!

* Or, should I say, graphic novels? Yep, sounds mature-ish that way...
More about that subject on a post to come!

DEPECHE MODE live in Athens; 10 things I learned

The highlight of May, THE concert of the year, his hotness performing on stage-
it finally happened!!!

Last Friday Martin Gore's band performed live at Terravibe stage for us greek Depeche Mode fans, and I was there! Heart in hand, it was a concert that was well worth the money, time spent and effort; one that I can proudly recite in years to come.

Here's everything I learned from this experience:

1. Terravibe is much more concert-appropriate than the O.A.K.A.. Fact. It's just so much nicer to stand on a green space with pine trees all around and enjoy the fresh air, than having to spend 4+ hours on a cold stadium. The sound was crystal clear and the big screens on either side of the stage had excellent picture quality.

2. A lot of people complained about the crowded entrance. We did experience a bit of trouble going through the front gate, though I should point out that the the exit was pretty smooth with minimum crowding.

A rant on MAC & its practices that ruin all the fun...

Do excuse my bitterness today;
I needed to get this short and informal post published as soon as possible!

After a week's delay from its official release date, the Mac Archie's girls collection finally arrived at our stores. Which technically is more than a month past its release in the UK.

Now, I may have managed to locate and ultimately purchase the one thing I really wanted from this collection (Veronica's Ronnie Red lipstick), and yet something has turned me off from this whole limited-edition business.

B-day thoughts, goals and comic strips...

* Gawd, it's hard trying to come up with a decent blog post introduction after being M.I.A. for more than 2 weeks- spare me just this once, guys! *

So, the news are as follows: I've been trying out a new skincare routine, had yet another failed appointment for ombre-ing my hair (ugh!) and, well... yesterday was my birthday.
Boy, am I glad that day is over!

You're now probably thinking "wtf gurl, are you serious??? Birthdays are fun!"
Allow me to plead my case, for the hell of it...

You see, apart from acting as a harsh reminder of getting older, I don't understand why it has to be such a big deal in one's life. Sure, the fact that people ring for wishes is caring, and the presents are always nice- though I'd much appreciate it if someone gave me a lovely gift at any given day, not out of mere obligation... Just sayin'!

Here's what makes me want to rush up the hours into the next day: the massive amounts of attention. Being forced into the spotlight is not my thing, especially while everybody expects me to be on my best mood, best outfit and best-est smile, when all I want is to be booze-free, stay unapologetically indoors and watch series after series of Family Guy.

6 things NOT to do on a first date...

* Warning: this is a lighthearted post.
Please don't take it too seriously, it was written on the spur of the moment! *

Contemplating on yesterday's "celebration" (ain't feeling the Valentine's pressure to do cutsie things no-matter-what!), I couldn't help but remember all the disastrous dates I've had over the years. Wanna have a good laugh? Read on!

To be fair, I'm not a serious dater per se, though I guess it's only fair to have some funny dating stories to share if you're in your late 20s...

Alright, here goes:

1. Guys, don't brag you use more hairspray than your date does.
Acting like a metrosexual has its limits.

2. Geeky can be cute, just don't go overboard;
for ex. suggesting that you've made your own ring of invisibility (blame Tolkien's trilogy) but shoot! you lost it, it's a total fail...

3. Don't take your date on an abandoned house/temple/construction site if you can't handle it; it's not cool to scream at every squeaking sound and cling on to her like glue.

LIPSTICK WARDROBE's 2013 wishlist!

I'm probably one of those few people that don't believe in new year's resolutions;
making lists of any sort can be fun and I enjoy it, albeit not in this case.

Enforcing myself such new "rules" that have to be accomplished no-matter-what turns quickly into a stressful situation. And I won't have any of that this year, thank you very much! In fact, here is my one and only new year's resolution (kind of): to avoid stressing out as much as I can.

So, instead of making a list of promises I'm not willing to keep, I took notes of a few beauty products I'd like to look into until spring. Let's start, shall we?

1. Kiehl's Over-Night Biological Peel: this is meant to be some sort of a gentle chemical peel. I've used a sample of this in the past and loved it, but it kills me! that Kiehl's doesn't take part in the monthly 25% sales... Ugh!
2. Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Scrub: to add up to the previous on-and-off exfoliator, a daily scrub should keep my skin glowing every single day. This one by Garnier contains Vitamin C and Salicylic Acid, two skincare ingredients I'm loving at the moment. I hear it smells divine!
3. The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Radiance Capsules: notice the pattern? Vit C is going to be my best friend in 2013! Our skin needs as much anti-oxidant goodness as it can get.

4. Mac Media lipstick: I find dark burgundy lips to be a modern interpretation of the "statement lip" trend, which I love. Now that I'm planning to re-ombre my hair, I'd like to wear an alternative to the cherry-red lipstick that has become so mainstream lately...
5. Mac Veluxe Brow Liner: this seems to be a better deal than the Mac mechanical brow pencils- there's more product, a nifty little spoolie on the end, while it claims to offer a matte powdery finish. Want!
6. Mac 217 brush: I need to improve my skills on blending eyeshadows, and I won't compromise with a cheaper blending brush. 217, it is!
7. Mac Face and Body foundation: hopefully, after I've upgraded my skincare routine for my face to get an even tone, I'd love to try out a weightless foundation like Mac's Face and Body. I can always hope for the best, right?

3 random things: meeting Alex Kavvadias, the BEST Christmas tea, and some 90's memorabilia!

My darlings! How you've been?
I hope you're all having a great time anticipating Christmas!

The reason for this impromptu post is quite obvious: I had a couple of things I wanted to share with you in mind, which didn't fit with this blog's usual topics. So here they are, all gathered in a totally random post...

Hopefully there's something useful for you in the following lines. Or not ;)
Personally, I find it refreshing to stray from beauty-related stuff once in a while!

1: Meeting Alex Kavvadias!
Oh-My-God. I'm so glad I looked composed and didn't scream like a 15-year old at the sight of Alex! I met him a couple of weeks ago at the Kiehl's Mr Bones auction that took place in an art gallery at Metaxourgeio (for more info, have a look at my FB wall). Now, I'm not one to take pride in photos with my mug+celebs; it's only meant to accompany the fact that Alex is a really, really nice guy and so approachable. And hot, obviously... :)))

Lipstick Wardrobe's FALL makeup wishlist!

Happy September 1st everyone!

Oh, I'm so glad summer is officially over- even if the weather is still hot! Fall is probably my favourite season of the year: chilly evenings with a light coat and a scarf, hot coffee on hand and strolling around the city taking photos, that's all I long for!

Naturally, I felt inspired and made a mental wishlist of what I'd like to buy during Fall.
Below I've made a little collage of everything makeup-related in my wishlist...

Three must-watch Japanese films

Please excuse today's randomness-
apparently, I've lost my blogging mojo and I need to get my mind off beauty-related stuff!

Three utterly amazing japanese films are the reason behind this impromtu post. I recently saw them all and -if it's any worth- I now classify them among the few best films I've ever watched. Highly, HIGHLY recommend you to watch these, if you appreciate world cinema!

Each storyline is not that unique, though they're certainly captivating and will have you glued in the screen to see what happens next. All three films are real, in the sense that they deal with the profound meaning of life, so it's inevitable for them not to have a deep impact on how you view all aspects of living such as love, pain and death.
Moving factor of all 3: very high- be prepared!

1 .    S T I L L    W A L K I N G    ( 2 0 0 8 )
A family gets together once a year to commemorate the accidental death of their eldest son, who drowned when he tried to save a boy's life. This time, the younger son brings with him his new wife, who is a widow and has a boy from her previous marriage.

2 .    D E P A R T U R E S    ( 2 0 0 8 )
A cellist loses his job after the band he was taking part is fallen apart. He returns to his hometown to live with his wife in the house he grew up, and settles upon one of the most bizarre professions: preparing the dead before they're cremated. [Surprisignly, this film is not as heavy and gloomy as it sounds!]

3 .    C H E R R Y    B L O S S O M S    ( 2 0 0 8 )
A german-japanese film, actually... It's about a middle-aged couple who have a loving relationship and live in a small Bavarian village, after their children moved out to seek their own future. The wife (who is Japanese) has always wanted to visit Japan's sacred mountain Fuji, but something happens along the way that changes everything. [I'd advise you to skip the trailer below, as it actually reveals the film's turn of story]

If you're mostly accustomed with the Hollywood movies' fast pace, you don't need to worry: I can assure you there's no Angelopulian fixed plans that last half an hour in these films! If you happen to have watched any of them, let me know of your opinions and thoughs ;)

There, it feels good sharing your very best "discoveries" to the world!
Do leave me a comment if you know of other japanese films that are worth watching ;)

Youtube Beauty Gurus: In and Outs

Time for a different kind of post!
I hope you're feeling chatty like I am, now that I'm typing these lines ;)

Most of the times, those of us who enjoy reading beauty blogs are also into Youtube beauty videos as well- it's inevitable for these things to go hand in hand! In this post, I'm going to share with you my new favourite Youtube gurus, along with a couple of ones I kinda stopped watching for the time being...

[Just to clarify, these are my personal preferences; please don't get offended if I'm dishing out your favourites! Also, if I'm not mentioning the big guns like Lisa Eldridge, the Pixiwoo sisters or Gossmakeupartist, it's because I wanted to omit the obvious gurus:
I freakin' love them all!]

     I N S

Essiebutton
I always get sooo excited when there's a new video from this girl in my subscription box! I love her sense of humour and that she doesn't take herself seriously. Her videos are non-scripted and despite them being relatively long, they fly by before you know it. Every time I'm looking forward for that part where she goes to tell a hilarious story!

Cami loves Kiwi
Lately I can't get enough of Cami's brit wit! Other than that, she makes well put-together videos and is always genuine when reviewing beauty products. And she pulls off so effortlessy that winged eyeliner+red lips look. For that, I envy her!

Hannahgeorgina24
I think I came upon her channel after a recommendation from Makeupneversleeps (another awesome Youtuber that I miss a lot!), and I'm so glad i did. She's a down to earth person and her videos are such a pleasure to watch; this girl deserves a whole lotta more subscribers.

BeautyQQ
Ahhh, I'm in love with this lady! I appreciate the effort she puts into every video, every single one of them is entertaining and so inspiring, her creativity and talent really shines through. The below is one of my faves:

Sasaki Asahi
The cutest girl on Youtube, all the way from Tokyo! I'm so happy she's recently gained some recognition because she truly deserves it.

   O U T S

Kandee Johnson: as much as I loved her in the beginning, now I feel I'm not getting anything new from her videos. However, I do sympathise with the fact she's a busy mom (let's face it, that is a full-time job on its own), and having an active Youtube channel requires a lot of time and effort. Maybe I've had a Kandee overload, a little break seems fitting!

MissChievous: THE master of blending, if you ask me. I can't point to a certain attribute of hers, but somehow I've grown not to like her anymore... Does that make any sense? It might have to do with the fact I've been following her for 4 years and I've now found new Youtube gurus that I like watching more than Miss Chievous.

I hope you enjoyed this random post and have discovered some new and exciting Youtube gurus to watch! Leave me a comment if you happen to know any less popular Youtubers that deserve more love ;)

Now, tell me: which ones are your favourite Youtube beauty gurus?
Who do you reckon as being under- or over-rated?

Three things I learned last week...

This is a quick and random post on some things I'd like to address:
two cases of cosmetics samples, and a makeup fail.

Enjoy!

1. Sephora samples!
Did you know that you can get samples of almost any high-end skincare product at Sephora? I say almost because the good ones are always tucked away inside the drawers, out of the customers' sight where they're supposed to be... Anyway, that didn't stop me when Argiro, Ria and I went on a little shopping trip last week, so here's my loot! Admittedly, I filled those little pots in the most generous manner ;)

In case you're wondering: the one on the top right is the Estee Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint Release moisturiser, the one at the bottom left is the Clarins Daily Energizer gel

2. Fresh Line samples!
Fresh Line has some amazing offers at the moment- last week, they were giving away a sample of a fruity face mask to any passer-by, so naturally I picked one up! Then, because I made a little purchase, they also gave me a sample of their best-seller Vanilla hand cream (and the free gifts get more awesome if you make a bigger order). Well done, Fresh Line!

As for the makeup fail of the week...

3. Elf Studio Cream Eyeliner, shade Coffee
If I could advice you only one thing on shopping at www.eyeslipsface.co.uk, it would be this: whatever you buy, use it while it's still new! I've had this particular product for 1,5 year and now it has dried out to the point where I can't use it anymore. In all fairness, it had an amazing staying power when it was still usable, though the colour wasn't as dark as I'd like it to be. Black would have been a better option!

I hope you found something interesting in those bits and bobs!
Now it's your turn: be random and comment about anything ;)

The ugly side of blogging: pr freebies

I've been thinking about addressing some issues about blogging, but always kept postponing it- partly because I wasn't sure how many of you would find it interesting, but mainly from fear I might get hate by fellow bloggers.

However, I feel the time is right for me to come clean;
some things have to be said.

This time, I'm going to concentrate on the controversial subject of pr freebies.

Being a "beauty blogger" for the past 2 years (please allow me this self-imposed term for the sake of this post!), I've received a couple of emails from companies stating they'd like to send me a free product. Now I'm not going to lie, it's an extra little perk to be sent free products you're interested to try out. Us bloggers spend a lot of time on our blogs, so in such cases it feels like we get something in return for our hard work.

[You be the judge whether these reviews are objective or not. Granted, one would feel obliged to write only positive things about a product he/she's given for free- but personally speaking, I don't depend on pr freebies to satisfy my love for cosmetics. Also, I've already turned down an offer for a free product I wouldn't spend my money on it in the first place.]

    image from Google

However, nowadays there's an alarming growing "trend" among a few bloggers (both
well-established and new ones): they take the initiative to send emails to brands, requesting free products to feature in their blogs. Without touching the moral aspect of this issue (is the person greedy? not greedy?), it raises a lot of questions:

1. Can you really be objective over sth YOU have asked to be sent for free?

2. Can you really blame a pr company for expecting nothing but a positive review, since YOU are the one who pulled the strings for this transaction?

3. Are the new FTC guides adequate enough, so that each blogger is compelled to state whether he/she contacted the brand to receive freebies?

I'm not pointing fingers to anyone in particular- above all, blogging is a democratic medium, everyone is free to do his/her thing. But ultimately, it's the blogging world in its entity that is being affected by a minority of bloggers, who take advantage of their popularity (big or small) to expand their cosmetics collection on zero cost.

Beauty bloggers have started a good thing; there is now a growing community of women (and men) all around the world exchanging ideas on a subject they share a common interest, and to have a few people messing with the beauty bloggers' credit for the rest who play fair is, well... unfair.

I'd love to read what you think about bloggers asking for freebies, whether you're blogging yourself or you're just a reader of beauty blogs. Would you consider it a fair thing to do? Are you interested in blog reviews, no matter if the author has asked to receive for free the products featured?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this out-of-the-ordinary post!

My "Marni for H&M" shopping list

It's interesting that in late years, the minds behind H&M have decided to educate their customers about high-fashion houses; because to be honest, if it wasn't for this particular collaboration, I wouldn't have googled Marni to find out what the brand is all about...

Granted, the patterns in this collection are a bit crazy- but that's what Marni is all about, right? Personally, I don't do well with prints- especially on the upper part of my body. However, I managed to assort some items I'd love to see myself into- but the prices, ugh!!! I wish they were a little more affordable! I can't afford to risk €100 on a dress I might not want to wear the following year...

So, boring haul it is :(
This T-shirt lies on top of my shopping list:

Cotton T-shirt, €29,95: love-love-love its print! This would make an excellent addition for my short -but slowly growing!- collection of well-made, all-cotton T-shirts. The only thing I'm worried about is the black lining on the neck and sleeves, let's hope they won't leak black dye onto the white!

Now for the rest of the items I have my eye on, I'm still unsure whether I'll be buying any- nevertheless, here they are! As you can see, they don't look THAT much Marni-esque...
My point exactly!

1. Ankle-length trousers, €79,95
2. Leather/plastic necklace, €39,95
3. Silk shorts, €49,95
4. Leather bag, €79,95
5. 2-pack plastic bracelet, €29,95

Also, have you seen the men's collection? Every single piece looks so much more toned-down and just... wearable! Heck, they even come in friendlier prices!
Why, dear H&M, why do you favour the boys once again...

These items are what I'd love to see on a man:

1. Silk scarf, €19,95
2. Cotton shorts, €19,95
3. Striped blazer, €99
4. Shirt, €49,95
5. Drawstring bag, €39,95

So, what will you getting from this H&M launch?
Do you find the prints interesting or too "in-your-face"?

"CBSG5861"... who? All hail "Lipstick Wardrobe"!!!

Just a short notice to let you all know that my blog is changed-
from now on, you'll be reading my blog posts under www.lipstickwardrobe.com!

2 years ago, when I first decided to start writing down my beauty thoughts and publish them to the world, I couldn't think of a nice blog name that reflected "me" the most; FYI, "cbsg5861" stood for my email address- how lame excuse for a blog name, isn't it! I finally decided it was about time to replace it with a proper domain address...

So, Lipstick Wardrobe it is!
Needless to say, I'm so freakin' excited like a little girl!
How lame to get excited over a new blog name, isn't it...

Anyway, I hope you like the new blog name and layout!
I'll be celebrating my new website with a small giveaway soon, so keep your eyes open ;)

My funny Valentines...

***I decided to write a fun little post tonight, so as to get myself into "daydreaming" mode. Im trying to keep my mind busy with trivial things for my own sanity. As you may already know by now, times are hard in Greece and we need all the distraction we can get...***

I don't get the Valentine's celebration. When you're single, isn't it a cruel reminder of your ex boyfriends? And then, when you're in a relationship, you are forced to go out for dinner in overcrowded restaurants, or you get over-streesed about what would be the perfect gift for your boyfriend. Ugh...

But, I digress.

Let me show you some of my imaginary Valentines- aka my favourite actors that their performance is so captivating every time, I admire them for their talent...
Ok, their looks help as well!
... ...
... ...
... ...
Alright, I'll rephrase: screw pretences. To me, these men are oozing sexiness! I have to warn you though, there's no George Clooney, Brad Pitt or Jude Law in my list! Heck no, I'm not that conventional...

Starting with my old-Hollywood crushes: Marcello Mastroianni. Ah, what a man! I probably relate to him more because he's Italian, and you know what they say about Greeks and Italians- una faccia, una razza! He was so adorable in "Ieri, Oggi, Domani" with Sophia Lauren, I wonder why these two didn't hook up in real life... Then of course, there's Carry Grant. Nothing more to add here, the man's the epitome of style!

Then, we have Robert Redford. When he was younger, obviously... Who didn't cry in "The Way We Were"? Steve McQueen, the cool, scruffy American who starred in some mediocre movies but boy wasn't he handsome!

Now here comes the "strange" part of my lust list: John Malkovich. Yes, I actually find the man sexy. He is so ugly, he has grown a terrible baldness- but oh, the way he speaks is like whispering dirty talk on my ears! Willem Dafoe is another weird crush of mine... I don't know, must be the wrinkles? His angular face? His hair?!? Whatever it is, I find him so hot that I wanna marry him. And believe me, I'm not the marrying kind!

My latest crush: Kenneth Branagh. Can't explain it either. I'll have to watch "My Week with Marilyn" only for his sake!

I feel so old-school to add Antonio Banderas on this list, but there's a disclaimer: I only loved him in "The Skin I Live In", as the character he was playing was far from the Latino-lover caricature he's played over and over the past few years! Comprende?

To finish this pathetic excuse of a blog post, here's Matt Damon singing "My Funny Valentine" from "The Talented Mr Ripley". Enjoy!

That's it guys, my list of current Valentines.
Which was pretty ridiculous. I hope you had a good laugh!
Now, let me know your crushes!!!

Note to Kostis: darling, please don't be offended by this post! See, I even put Robert Redford in my list, your so-called "lookalike"... Ok? Mwah :*

High-end blush recommendations, pretty please?

My lovelies, I need your help...

Now that I've treated myself with the purchases of those cult high-end makeup products Chanel Bronze Universel and Dior Amber Diamond, I was thinking it was about time I got my hands on a high-end blush, as well ;)

I first decided on a cream blush as I don't own any yet; naturally, the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge was the first that came to mind, though after a little online browsing I got disillusioned: the wicked brains behind Bobbi Brown decided to discontinue all Pot Rouges! How swell! Second candidate is the infamous Illamasqua Rude cream blush; absolutely love its colour, hate that it's so hard to get online! Ugh... Do let me know if you happen to know any online stockists cause Ebay is currently not an option!

There's also the cream/liquid hybrid blush that is best portrayed in Daniel Sandler Watercolour blush and MUFE HD blush. I'm still unsure if Daniel Sandler's version can be classified as high-end, but whatever; the shipping to Greece will make for a high-end price! As for the MUFE HD blush, I like its concept but... For some inexplicable reason, I detest its packaging! That alone can keep me miles away from makeup products :P

Then there's always the powder blushes and the Masters of the genre: Nars Orgasm and Benefit Coralista. Both blushes are ever so high on my imaginary wishlist but seriously now, how many pink-with-gold-shimmer blushes a girl can have?

The last couple of candidates are from two brands I've looked up online the least, Tarte and Cargo: the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes have recently been all over Youtube and beauty blogs, so there must be a good reason for all this buzz; the Cargo blushes stand out because of their simple (but different) silver packaging, while all reviews I've come across are 100% rave. However, both products are only available online, so I can't verify their swatches first-hand :(

Guys, I need your feedback on this one!
If you could recommend me only one from the products featured above, what would it be?
Also, if you own any of these, do let me know what you think of them. I value your opinion and will surely take it into consideration!

Thank you in advance ;)

Russian Red kisses for 2012!!!

New Year's Eve calls for something red.
It may be just a superstition but I don't care, I think it's fun!

To celebrate the arrival of 2012, my "something red" of choice was Russian Red lipstick by Mac:

I managed to save it unswatched for a month, so that I would first use it on New Year's Eve! Colour wise, it's everything I wished it was- though it's not as longlasting as I expected, it seems to smudge off pretty easily ;)

Also, now I have to get a lip brush to put it on-
notice my sloppy application?

On a more personal note:

I admit this time around will be no new year's resolutions for me. It may have worked in the past, but now life has changed. I've changed. All this hard-thinking and over-analyzing the aspects of my life I'd like to improve is messing with my head and causing me more stress. Instead, I'll focus my positive energy to my family, my lovely boyfriend and a few precious frendships. Cause at the end of the day, it's the little world that surrounds you that matters and make life worth living.

Happy New Year, my dears!
I'm wishing you good health, happiness and good fortune ;)
Lots of hugs and kisses,

Evi   xx

My Christmas wishlist

I know, I know- it's way too early to even speak out the word "Christmas", but it's nice to anticipate a big and exciting event, isn't it? Besides, I want to be 100% ready when the 2012 countdown begins- I have this weird habit of saving up some special products only to start using them on the 1st of January :P

Dior Amber Diamond powder: it's been like 1,5 year since I first heard about this beauty over at theGlossGoss, and it's still in my wishlist! I think it's about time I crossed it off my list, don't you think?
A red matte lipstick by Mac: I'm torn between Russian Red, Ruby Woo or Lady Danger... It's so hard to pick just one! Any recommendations, please?

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation: As much as I hate having duplicates of foundations, concealers, powders, etc., I'm starting to realise that a girl needs to have 2 different foundations at hand: one offering light coverage for daytime and the other with a medium to full coverage for evenings out or when the skin's condition really needs it. This Bourjois foundation falls under the 2nd category; word has got around that it smells like my beloved Chanel Bronze Universel!!!
The Body Shop new Shimmer Cubes: I've already purchased the top right palette and got nothing but good things to say about it! 2 more shimmer cubes to snatch until Christmas!
A new perfume: ahhh, there's so many new scents to choose from! Although I desperately want to try out the new Aqua di Gioia Essenza; I've always been a fan of the Armani perfumes, with Aqua dio Gio (the men's cologne) being my favourite. Can't wait to have a peek at the new perfume sets, too!

Fancy candles: For once, I'd like to step away from the generic Ikea candles, please! The ones pictured above are reasonably priced- for a fancy candle, that is! Nothing like the Diptyque candles' price tag- 46+ euros? Hell no to that!!!

What's in your Christmas wishlist? Do share!

My new haircut

I hate negleting my blog...

Lately, it seems I've been busy with all kinds of stuff that left me feeling like a wreck, unwilling to make a little post of happy-happy subjects like lipsticks and blushes!

Things are pretty hectic this time of year... And I hate that.
%X&#Q$@&!!!  --------> yeah, this is cursing... Heavy cursing, indeed! lol

So among other errands that occupied my time, last week I had an appointment at a hair salon. Cause it must have been about 2 years (!!!) since I last had my hair cut by a professional. And I've been feeling like I couldn't step out of the house with my ever-so-messy cut, so it was about time my hair had a major fix.

Long and messy, which was cool but I couldn't maintain it properly...

I wanted a low-cut voluminous bob with a fringe, something sophisticated like Alexa Chung's hair. Yeah, Alexa's hairdo was what i had in mind...

Instead, I got Jessie J.

I don't know what went wrong- probably I was over-confident with my directions and the hairdresser took it to a whole new level! It will take some time till I get used to it, sob sob...

So, do you have any hairdresser's disasters to share?
