L'Oreal NEW Color Riche nail polishes!

Bear with me, peeps-
I need to get this review uploaded now that it's still hot outside; it wouldn't be appropriate to showcase such summery nail colours during cold weather, would it?

As soon as I got my hands on one of the new mini nail polishes by L'Oreal, I knew I would shortly be marching over at Hondos to get me some more! So here it is, my small Color Riche
haul-slash-review. I hope you enjoy it!

These are the two colours I picked out the last couple of months...

A few words about the Color Riche range:

Admittedly, one has to give credit to L'Oreal for FINALLY having grasped the demand for affordable nail polishes in up-to-date shades, with new ones brought out every season. One look at the full range and you'll be convinced: every sought-after nail trend is there! I've spotted a greige, a mushroomy Particulière dupe, some fun pastels, you name it. The only colour family that the Color Riche range is lacking is the metallics, let us hope this will be fixed in the future ;)

602-Perle de Jade: a light blue with a hint of yellow, to make it less bright

I should add at this point that while I was at Hondos trying to end up with a couple of colours, three (!) girls came in and particularly asked for a pearly pink grandma-ish shade. Now, how about that???

Colours aside, the quality of these nail polishes is amazing. You get perfectly opaque, shiny colour that lasts pretty well on the nails with 2 thin coats. The fat, flattened brush is another selling point, as it reaches every corner of the nail with little effort. And let us not forget that L'Oreal has added names along with the mandatory shade numbers!
Here's a few of them: Cafe Saint GermainPurple Disturbia, Rouge Pin-Up, Macaron Noisette, Rose Marie Antoinette... Pretty luring, don't you think?

616-Innocent Green: a dark, "dirty" turquoise to petrol shade

Now, here's a few cons that you sould consider as well:
  • these may be affordable alright, but they're only 5ml each
  • air bubbles tend to form if you apply thick coats
  • since there's no room for error, you have to be extra careful when you screw the brush part to the bottle...
See? I was in a hurry one day and a few bristles got damaged!

But overall, I think these are worth looking into. Quality-wise, they stand apart from the rest of the most popular "drugstore" nail polishes. You can try one to test out the formula, and if you feel content with its size, go and explore the rest of the range!

So, what do you think of the new Color Riche Vernis: yay or nay?
Would you favour mini nail polishes over regular-sized ones?

  2. I have Chic Pink and I love it! Also, i really like the brush. The 616 looks gorgeous, I think it's a possible dupe to my Mac LE nailpolish from the Surf Baby collection that I've used up, almost to the last drop!

    1. Yeah, I think the brush is comparable to those of some high-end nail polishes! I don't think the 616 is a dupe for the Surf Baby nail polish you mention, although I'm positive that there IS a dupe in the Color Riche range!

    1. Αυτό είναι όντως ένα θέμα, αλλά αν πρόκειται για καμία περίεργη απόχρωση που δε φοράς συχνά τότε αξίζει ;)

  7. it's such a coincidence that I finished painting my nails with one of these shades, No 607, called Rue Montmartre, a lovely grey-purple, especially flattering for light complexions. I think the brush is way too wide, don't you think? Or it's maybe that my nails are actually too small, I don't know. Still a lovely drugstore nail polish series, thumbs up

    1. Oh I love the brush because it's so wide! I find smaller brushes are partly the ones to blame for an uneven application, at least on my nails ;)
