I don't know about you girls-
but me, I'm always planning ahead on what make-up I'm going to wear
on the beach every summer!
Face: sunscreen all the way! This is the Korres Watermelon face cream with SPF20 from last year (it has a 24M tag so I think it's ok to use it). As my skintone lacks uniformity and to save me some time, I'll be mixing it with my foundation and ta da, skin's done in no time!
Cheeks: it's a no brainer this year, def going to be my new Soleil Tan de Chanel! Since it's a cream formula, it's going to blend beautifully on top of my sunscreen+foundation, while keeping up with the "bronzed skin" theme ;)
Eyes: curled lashes and mascara, only when I want to look really polished... I mean, since I'll be wearing sunglasses all the time, what's the point in putting on eye make-up at all? I'm strictly avoiding any uneccessary tugging of my eyes from wearing or removing eye make-up.
Lips: I'm so glad my sister got me this Suntint by Mac, cause it's the perfect treat for my lips to use while on the beach! It's basically a liquid lipbalm with SPF20; it has a slight pale pink tint and fine gold shimmer running through it. The squeeze-tube packaging is perfect, as it won't collect sand like the traditional lip glosses with the wand. AND it won't melt on my bag like regular lip butter sticks...
So, what's your beach make-up routine?
Any of you going bare faced under the sunnies?

I'm usually bare faced or I have on a tinted moisturizer with SPF and a waterproof mascara.I love the Korres cream as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

ps.Sami says hi:p
I didn't have the chance to try the old Watermelon sunscreen from Korres, only the Watermelon TM, but this year I got the Yogurt SPF50 one and I seriously love it!!! I'm on the hunt for a cheap lip balm with SPF, in the past I tried the Liposan one, it was horrible, last month I got the Hawaaian Tropic Mango, didn't like it, and I think I'm gonna go for the Body Shop's Vitamin E SPF15.
ReplyDeleteHello! New here and bare faced too at the beach. If I feel my skin dull I only put on some cream blush (maybeline no4). I use too a lot of THS products but haven't tried this mascara. Is it nice?
ReplyDeleteno make up at the beach for me too and once i tried it my bf laughed at me.
ReplyDeleteoh boys, boys, boys. i think that they don't like make up at all and especially lipsticks.
haha evi this is so true! My beach routine ? Mastic Spa spf45 sunblock (very easily burnt skin here) ... many layers of it, sunglasses and liposan lip balm spf 25 ! That's all. No makeup at the beach, not even waterproof mascara.
ReplyDeleteyou know I am intrigued by this :) per previous message on shoppingtherapy cause I normally don't wear any make up other than my spf cream. what happens though if you take a dive? cause I always wet my hair. will the bronzer stay on for example? or this applies to when you only lounge by the pool/sea?
ReplyDeleteLoved that post doll!!Aww beach make up!I'd love to have one pls,but with kids and running around all the time ..my make up is sliding to my neck!!lol but I'm tempt for the Mac Suntitnts!thats for sure!!

I luvedddd this post!
ReplyDeleteI'll do one myself with what's in my beach bag!!! =))
I totally agree with afro! I have the right to wear makeup on the beach. For me it's korres tinted moisturizer, waterproof mascara and lipbalm.I bought this year another sunscreen from castalia spf 30, tinted and for acne-prone skin. I haven't tested it on the beach, but it's great for the city and it has a medium coverage.
ReplyDelete@Ria, ha ha tell Sam I'll be gone the whole summer- I don't want to encourage any of his surprise visits! lol
ReplyDelete@SophiaPeaches, hi girl! That's correct- the Watermelon range of sunscreens by Korres is now discontinued, so how's this new Yoghurt sunscreen? Does it leave that nasty white cast on the skin? By the way, I looove the Vit E lipbalm by TBS ;)
@mariza, hey there! Well, this mascara has a funny consistency- it doesn't feel like regular mascaras but it's not completely waterproof either! It must be one of those new "tube technology" mascaras (although it doesn't say so in the packaging), cause sometimes I have to pull my lashes to get it off and I'm left with ELASTIC pieces of mascara! Still, it's nice and volumising. Hope that helped!
@evi, ha ha I've noticed that, too! They probably are in fear that lipstick tastes gross, lol!
xx
@Anastasia, oh I envy you girl, if my skintone was even I wouldn't wear foundation at all!
ReplyDelete@λειντι ντι, to tell you the truth, I never do dives as I'm always wearing my contact lenses! Can't go nowhere without them :(
@Blushingloves Irene Greece, yeah those Suntints by Mac are so cool! Too bad they're LE...
xx
@Argyro, oh please do that! I love peeking into other girls' make-up bags ;)
@andreana, that Castalia tinted suncreen sounds nice! I remember a dermatologist had prescribed me with lots of products from that brand ages ago. Must look it up!
xx
when I go to the beach I only wear a lip balm:)
ReplyDeleteThat's right, can't go to the beach without a proper SPF lip balm!

I cannot stand anything on face when I go to the beach! The heat, the salty water on my face..I love diving so I wear only my sunscreen and lip balm with spf!I envy your Channel bronzer!!!
ReplyDeleteAt last, someone who wears make up at the beach! It's usually included in the "Don'ts" of summer, but not on my book. I mean ok, I will not do a full face make up routine for the beach, but sorry for not having the perfect complexion to go out bare faced! I usually wear a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen, at least until my face tans a bit and the sun and see make my complexion blemish free (don't you love that?!). I also apply black eyeliner at the waterline and maybe some mascara. It may get smudged after a while, but I don't mind. I hate my lashes without mascara, they're so light that they don't even show! And of course, a hint of lipgloss to perk up the lips!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment doll, I've been a bit busy, but I'm back now!
xxx
I don't wear make up at the beach because, like Demi, I can't stand anything on my face and I like diving. But the Korres spf30 tinted sounds goood!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear any make up at the beach. Only sunscreen! I like diving too but I'm also too bored to wear anything on my face when the weather is hot. So, I wear my sunscreen and my sunglasses. I don't have a perfect skin, but I don't like wearing make up at the beach either.

@Artemi, χα! Αμάν βρε κορίτσια, όλες έχετε τέλειο δέρμα χωρίς ατέλειες; Ζηλεύωωωω!

@Lady-Pa, συμφωνώ, είναι δύσκολο! Ίσως τα silicone-based foundations είναι καλύτερα για τη θάλασσα, just sayin'...
@Demi, lol don't envy me, it's no longer looking pretty- collects fingerprints and dust and fluffy hair like crazy!
@Arietta, tell me about it! I don't believe those do's and dont's in makeup- you feel like it, you wear it. Period!
Welcome back, hun ;)
xx
@NatalieDouka, I know, I'm tempted to purchase it too!
@doyouspeakgossip, ah you're a minimalist like the other girls who go make-up free! Good for you girl, ahhhh I can't help but feel a tad jealous, ha ha!
Great post (one that I've been meaning to make since last summer but never got round to it)!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I DO take makeup items with me at the beach, and no, I cannot go out completely bare skinned either! Usually though some bronzer, a hint of blush and a tinted lip balm will do the trick! Those wash off evenly after a swim too, so I won't look cakey!
Let's hope that at SOME point though we will be able to go bare-faced, haha!
xx
Ha ha, that would be nice! Until then, bronzers and blushes come to the rescue ;)
