...where "meeeh!" refers to those I've been recently trying out and don't fit under my "best of" or "worst ever" list of beauty products.
Yeah, I keep doing lists like that... No, I'm not an organizing freak. No I'm not, no I'm not, no I'm not...
Korres Wild Rose moisturiser: please don't hate me for saying this, but the only positive I can find about this product is the "formula facts" list where it's stated than it contains no petrochemicals, parabens, etc. Other than that: it takes time for the cream to be fully absorbed on the skin, otherwise you run the risk of those nasty white marks all over your face... Oh, and don't get me started on the pathetic SPF6. I mean, really? SPF6 and it claims to be an all-round moisturiser? Please...
TBS Vitamin E face mist: you can definitely smell the rosewater in this moisturising spritz (as it turns out, I'm all for hardcore synthetic rose blends rather than the real thing, but I digress). The main issue I have with this product is that upon application, it's not that refreshing... Heck, plain tap water feels definitely more refreshing than that! Although I must point out that it does moisturise your face, as it claims to do- but I think my oily skin could be without this extra layer of moisture :/
TBS Moisture foundation: ok, so I don't 100% hate this foundation, it's just that my skin needs a bit more coverage than what this product has to offer. However, I'm not giving up the hunt for a low coverage foundation; my next choices would be Mac's face&body or the popular Bourjois 10-hour sleep effect foundation. Or a nice tinted moisturiser? Or even a BB cream? Ah, I could go on forever, the list is endless!
Anyone want to share her current "meeeh!" products?

i love the body shop vitamin e face mist. I don't use moisturiser any more I only use this and it works great for my oily skin
ReplyDeleteI never tried the vitamine E mist. I also tried before the body shop foundation. In the beginning i loved it but after a while i found that it did not last on me and the coverage was light to medium.
ReplyDeletei have the green version of the korres cream i think its with olive. I have exactly the same problems its so thick at times it feels like im putting some sort of gel cream on my face however i do find the next morning my skin is very smooth. I just wish they would change the texture of the cream its like a pot of glue xo
ReplyDeleteWste deeen h krema apo Korre e?

meeeh list : rimmel stay matte foundation (its ok, its decent, medium-light coverage but still nothing impressive) and benefit hoola bronzer (lots of hype, not the perfect shade for girls without very yellow undertones)
ReplyDeletei've tried that korres wild rose, for winter when my skin goes crazy dry, but it's very stickyyyyy
Kisses :D
I have used wild rose too...it was a gift and thankfully I wont use it again the only thing I like is the smell! meeeh product list...all my glosses for the moment a canonot stand anything in my lips in such hot days!!!
ReplyDeletehmm....i remember 4-5 years when i tried the Korres wild rose moisturiser, it was for "normal and DRY" skin! Now all of a sudden it is for all skin types. Maybe they changed the formula, who knows(?). Even so, from what i've been hearing this cream still doesn't really work for combination or oily skin.I've only heard good reviews from people with normal to dry skin. I remember i couldn't stand it, it was pretty greasy and took ages to absorb. (Now why did i ever buy it since my skin is normal-oily? I was a newby at the time and the only reason i bough it, is because i liked the smell...it was my first moisturiser ever #fail hahaha)
ReplyDeletejust stumbled on your blog and I love your vision and opinion on products! how can I try Greek products in the States?? you got me interested ;)
ReplyDelete@misspinkaholic, oooh I've never thought of using it instead of my moisturiser! That might work... Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDelete@Beautyshades, yeah same here- I loved this foundation at first, now I feel I'm not getting enough coverage :(
@glittermeup, yeah mine feels kind of sticky, as well... Still, I can tolerate some flaws since it's a natural formula ;)
@Artemi, ροδόνερο λες, ε; Το έχω κι εγώ στη λίστα με τα προϊόντα που πρέπει να δοκιμάσω- είναι 100% φυσικό, και budget-friendly, τι άλλο να ζητήσεις;
xx
@Anastasia, ha! That happens to me too with those over-hyped products, somehow the magic is gone as soon as I get my hands on them :( Yeah, this Wild Rose moisturiser should work brilliantly on normal to dry skin! Maybe I did wrong for wanting to use it during summer...
xx
@Demi, no lipstick or gloss during summer? Nooo, how come? I can't stand bare lips on me, it's... wrong! Not even a nice moisturising lipstick? Or a tinted lipbalm?
ReplyDelete@dimitra, I can definitely see this cream working perfectly on normal to dry skin. I got sucked into this "all skin types" too, my skin is combination to oily like yours! That's why I'm putting this product into this "demi" category- it's not for me but it's a treat for someone with dry skin ;)
xx
@stella, αλήθεια, ούτε εσένα σε ενθουσίασε το ροδόνερο; Περιμένουμε το ποστ! Κρίμα για τα γκλος της Maybelline, και τι να τα κάνεις τώρα;
@Rachel Nguyen, hi girl! I would suggest pharmacy4u.gr- you'll be able to find greek brands such as Korres, Apivita, Macrovita, Mastic Spa and LOTS of other european pharmaceutical brands. Oh, and the prices are insane! This particular moisturiser by Korres costs 12.63 euros in pharmacy4u.gr, whereas it's listed for $35 in the US Sephora site! Same product, no joke!
i 've come to the conclusion that Korres face products are not for my skin! i've tried 2 moisturiser creams and the white tea gel cleanser. All of them are under the meeh :) category!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand i think that their make up products are very interesting and i love anything (eyeshadows, blushes, eyepencils, lipsticks, lipbalms, nail polishes) i've tried.
finally a new entry on my meeh list is artdeco eyeshadows. yes, they have very nice colors and their pigmentation is great but i'm sooo disappointed by their fall out. do you know what can i do to prevent this or how to clean up the mess in my face in the end?
I personally like the La Roche Posay Effaclar M moisturizer, which is like gel and it's mattifying :)
ReplyDeleteTry putting some plain rosewater in your fridge and then applying it on your face with a cotton pad or put it in a spray bottle and spray it on your face, that's extremely refreshing and moisturizing, without being heavy ;) (I got oily skin as well)
I don't have any meeeeh products now, I haven't shopped in a long time! x
@evi, I haven't yet plunged into Korres makeup! Although I've heard Lisa Eldridge mentioning that all products from Korres' makeup range contain silicone and maybe that's why they feel "right", so to speak!
ReplyDeleteI love the Art Deco eyeshadows too, but the fallout- damn! Maybe you should try them on with a synthetic brush, they tend to produce less fallout compared to the brushes with natural hair. I also use a big fluffy brush to remove any fallout and it works- most of the times :/
@Stavroula drugstoreandbargainlover, yeah maybe I should try plain rosewater instead, this stuff from the Body Shop is not refreshing at all :(
xx
ReplyDeletexx
Will make a note to stay clear of those items! ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for meeh items of the moment, hmm, I'd have to say MAC's msfn would be one, definitely overrated and I won't be repurchasing..!
xxx
Oh really? Shame on Mac! I've read lots of other bloggers prefering Maybelline's matte powder over the Mac msfn... I'm noting it down!
