I'll be blunt on this review:
Eyeshadows? All gone with a swipe!
Mascara? After you've soaked a cotton pad with this solution and let it sit on your lashes for a while, 90% of all mascara is gone- which is a pretty good job for an oil-free eye makeup remover!
I also love that it doesn't contain glycerine-
instead, it lists Cucumis Sativus (cucumber extract) in its short ingredients lists, much like Fix+.
Full ingredients: water, Peg-32, butylene glycol, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, Peg-6, Cucumis Sativus, trisodium edta, phenoxyethanol
The hole in the bottle's opening ensures that the product comes out in droplets.
No oily residue, as well ;)
In fact, the Mac Pro eye makeup remover belongs among the best
water-based eye makeup removers in the market, IMO.
But, here's the problem:
As I'm very diligent at removing my eye makeup, I ended up using a lot of product each time- thus I went through the whole bottle in a month!
It costs 19E for 100 ml of product (14,50E with the 25% sale, he he),
which I find a lot to spend on an eye makeup remover.
To conclude, I'd buy this product again and again every month,
if I could afford it;
currently, I'd much rather spend my money on a nice lipstick!
Impassioned, you'll be mine this summer!!!
So now I might go back to my trusty Yves Rocher gel cleanser, as I find the gel formulas to be the most efficient in getting rid of ALL mascara traces...
Still, I'm curious to try out the Mac dual-phased remover in the red bottle-
heck, at least it's eligible for back-to-Mac!
What is your favoutite eye makeup remover?
Do share!

I need impassioned too for this summer, hehe. My favourite makeup remover atm is the Bioderma one, after this one i dont really want to try anything else it's amazing! i cannot wait to pick up tons of yves rocher stuff when im going to france this summer :p
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about the Bioderma cleanser, that's a nice one to try out! So you like Yves Rocher? That's cool- I thought I was alone on this!

no oily residue?! can i sign up for one ?! LOL too bad you go through this so quickly! Hmmm...i've seen cheaper drugstore brands which doesn't contain oil in their eye mu removers too :) maybe check out those?
ReplyDeleteHa! I'll definitely be heading to the drugstore next time ;)
ReplyDeleteI use Neutrogena eye make up remover. Its very affordable and does the job well.
ReplyDeleteImpassioned looks interesting to me. :)

quite pricey though. I bought it 14 euro with a 25% discount.
I'm kinda lasy concerning eye make up removers but lately I use them regurarly...I haven't tried this one but the factor no oily residue is what I'm looking for! Thanks for the review dear!
ReplyDeleteI'm not bothered with make up removers anymore.....cotton balls, rubbing, waiting...! I use the Apivita olive and lavender face wash and it gets rid of everything! In the worst case(very dark smokey eye) i wash my face twice with it, but i rarely need to. I strongly recommend it!!
ReplyDelete100ml in a month?!? really? :D
ReplyDeletewell i had been using the apivita 3 in 1 with lavender for a long time but i was not satisfied with its efficiency on my eye area. nevertheless, it was perfect for the rest of my face. some time ago, i was given a sephora free sample (25ml). it was a dual face eye make up remover. it was the first time i had used one. it was not too much oily and any oil left it was removed with my apivita 3 in 1 which i used at the end. i want to try some more formulas and products before deciding whether to re-purchase it or not.
at the time being as i'm facing some financial problems (chic :P) i'm using the korres milk proteins make up removing wipes along with my vichy face wash.
Too bad you go through it so fast, otherwise it would be perfect for you! I remember your eyes are sensitive and can't tolerate anything oily, so I can't really help you. Maybe try Avene's or La Roche Posay's micellar lotion, Avene is around 15Euros for 400ml and I think the LRP is around the same price range :) x

Yeah this is amazing for people who don't like oil based removers.I use this on clients a lot.
ReplyDeleteFor myself (heavy waterproof eyeliner use) I use a cheap oil free make up remover mixed 50:50 with olive oil from our olive trees.
@Raech @ ❤ilvoeshopping❤, oh I've read rave reviews on the Neutrogena cleanser, thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDelete@Natalie, no problem, hun- I'm glad you liked it!
@efi, ouch... It must be efficient, though ;)
@Demi, oil-based eye makeup removers caused me some nasty milia spots :( So I'm never going back to those!
@dimitra, I've tried this Apivita cleanser before but I've never used it for removing makeup! But I remember it was quite ruthless on makeup residues my milk cleanser left behind ;)
xx
@evi, I feel exactly the same- I like to try different formulas before I settle on a product! Maybe you'd like to try a gel eye makeup remover, so far it's the best formula I've tried for removing eye makeup. I may do a post on the Yves Rocher cleanser once I I repurchase it ;)
ReplyDelete@Stavroula drugstoreandbargainlover, I love miscellar lotions! I've tried the Korres 3 in 1 cleansing water, it was fab ;)
@FashionSugarBubbles, αχά! Πάνω που έβλεπα τη διαφήμιση bioten στην τηλεόραση και αναρωτιόμουν, περί τίνος πρόκειται... Καλό!
@Eloise, yeah ever since the Pixiwoo video with Impassioned, I got obsessed with it...
@CookingChinchillas, ha ha, good old homemade recipe! A lot of girls use just that ;)
i didnt know that MAC has sales....i mean other than in their outlet location is the CCO...but impassioned is such a pretty colour i would sooo recommended you get it
ReplyDeleteGood post.. I dont usually use eye makeup remover, just use african black soap! Its awesome!
ReplyDelete@Jessy, that's right, Mac does a 25% sale from time to time in greek stores! Yeah Impassioned is going straight to my summer shopping list, as I'm not that impressed with the upcoming Mac LE collections :(
ReplyDelete@Eugenia, ooooh african soap? Must look it up, thanks for the recommendation doll ;)
xx
Sounds like a great product, but I'll agree it's too expensive to repurchase on a regular basis... I mean it's eye makeup remover, with the pile of eye makeup we wear everyday, it's only natural that we go through them so quickly!!!
ReplyDeleteDo give Garnier a try if you're on a budget, you may have to let your lashes soak up some more product, but at least it won't break the bank!!!
xx
This eye makeup remover by Garnier goes straight to my list, for all it costs you really can't go wrong!
