Another Art Deco haul

Hello my lovelies!

Don't mind the quirky picture introduction; I was browsing a fancy book about Beauty and well, this is beautiful to me ;)

You like?

Last week I popped into Hondos Center (legendary cosmetics shop! you gotta love it) for a quick shopping "fix".

The Art Deco counter caught my eye -again!- and I ended up with one lipstick and a liquid eyeliner.

The lipstick: it's the Longlasting Lip Stylo in shade #46, which the website describes as a "nude rose cream". The way I see it, it's more like a shade close to the lips' natural colour, probably around the same family as Mac's Viva Glam V that everyone seems to rave about. I used it a couple of times and I can already admit that I don't feel comfortable when wearing it! I'll try layering it with a pinky lipgloss. Hopefully it works.

The liquid eyeliner: it's the Liquid Star Eyeliner in black. The reason I chose this one over the Bourjois liner is because it resembles a lot to Mac's Superslick Liquid Eye Liner that was launched with Fabulous Felines.

Everything about the two (except the typewriting) looks identical: the packaging, the same ml contents, the water resistant formula, the jet black shade, the shape of the sponge tip applicator... If anyone owns Mac's version, please let me know where it's made- the Art Deco one is made in Germany. I'll die of curiosity, whether the two are made in the same factory!

Have you bought anything from Art Deco recently? Share it below ;)
Happy blogging and reading and commenting to everyone!

  1. The lipstick looks a bit sheer, is it actually? You could mix it with another lipstick or maybe with some eyeshadow to change the shade if that's what's troubling you. As for Art Deco I've only tried their eyeshadows and they're nice. And you reminded me that I have neglected my liquid eyeliner (by Mac) lately...

  2. Yes it is sheer! Nothing like Mac's pigmentation :( I haven't thought of mixing it with an eyeshadow, thanks! Another excuse to play with my makeup stash, he he...

  6. Well, I 'm not gonna be of much help, but those MAC liners were believed to be indentical in terms of pigmentation to the Illamasqua ones, and those ARE made in Germany as well!
I 'm guessing there's one lab that makes these liners and provides all these brands with them?

  7. Nice little haul :) Yeah that lipstick looks completely different on your hand than it does in the tube! How's the texture? Is it moisturizing? :)

  9. Hi girls! Apologies for not answering back on time, I was away from Athens ;)

@Λεναλδούπολη, I "heart" Art Deco!!! I've been hooked to the brand since I tried their eyeshadow base- great value for its price ;)

@λειντι ντι, yes it looks different because of the flash, the swatch on my hand is closer to what it looks like in real life.
The book was "History of Beauty" by Umberto Eco, it's so interesting but not an "easy" read- I'll probaly just look at the pictures instead, lol!

@tina_mbc, ahaaa!!! Now we're going somewhere! So it was Illamasqua who first did this kind of eyeliner, hmmm... So it could be that they come from the same factory. It could be...

@Stavroula drugstoreandbargainlover, the website says that it's moisturising, in reality it's not as drying as Mac lipsticks but it doesn't feel 100% comfortable either! I top my favourite #46 with the Korres Jasmine lip butter, looks and feels perfect ;)

@Chic Geek (Devs), the formula's ok, I'm not sure about the colour though :(
