September '12 favourites.

Oh man, I can't believe it's October already;
that means we're only 2 months away from Christmas time- the "C" word, damn!!!

September wasn't as exciting in regards to the "beauty front", hence the lack of cool and fancy products featuring on this post. Still, it all reflects my recent tendency to concentrate more on my skincare, along with opting for the "no makeup" makeup.

Starting with Clinique 3-Step, the past month's skincare entry:

These mini 30ml tubes lasted me for 4 weeks, used twice per day. Contrary to what I expected from the reviews I had read online, my personal experience with the 3-Step was positive overall: there's noticeably less acne and my pores have become smaller in size.
Now, I can understand why there's a lot of confusion/misconception about this trio, but the main thing to remember is to take it as a cleansing regime- not as a complete skincare routine. More about that on a separate review ;)

As for the makeup products I loved during September...

Art Deco Matte eyeshadows, shades 503, 512, 524: instead of using pencils that can sometimes look harsh on daytime, I've been using some brown or black eyeshadow on my top lashline. These ones are very pigmented with minimum fall-out, I absolutely love them! The matte white eyeshadow is pretty sheer, making it an excellent choice to gently enhance the brow bone.

Manhattan Mousse blush, shade Apricot: this was the only blush I've been using lately, for a good reason- it gives a healthy flush to the cheeks without adding any oiliness or "slip" to the foundation, while smelling of roses! This is the only creamy blush I own so far; if you have any experience with the Mac Cremeblend blushes, do let me know ;)

In case you're wondering about the lipsticks I used last month, it was only the lip products from the P10Pan that I'm trying to use up- sooo boring, but it has to be done!

Now tell me, what were your September favourites?
Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step before?

  3. I do have a couple of cremeblends but I use them only under powder blushes because by themselves they don't last that long. For a couple of hours they're ok, but then they start fading.

    1. Hmm, I see... Well, they don't sound that bad! Like you say, if a little powder blush on top can make them last a bit longer, I'm all for it!

  6. I have read all kinds of reviews about the 3-step system,I think you have to test it on your own to reach to a verdict. I also find Manhattan make up products interesting and value for money, I have a compact make up from their range, nothing special, but it's OK for everyday use.

    1. I feel the same way about the 3-Step, there's so contrasting feedback online about it that you have to test it yourself to make up your mind about it!
