Is there anyone who wouldn't love a bit of festive spirit ahead of December?
Personally, I'm all for it; if only we could celebrate Christmas for 3 months straight!
Like every year, the Body Shop launched their Christmas collection early in November. It's not only that the bodycare products have captured the holiday spirit spot-on, the new makeup range displays a definite improvement as well. You must step into a store to see, smell and touch all the uplifting Christmasy goodness!
This is a picture-heavy post. All full of indulgent bodycare, makeup and nifty little treats.
Don't blame me if you grow any new lemmings after reading it!
The kind people at the Body Shop organised a fun bloggers' event where we were introduced to the new seasonal ranges, along with a glass of cranberry coctail and some yummy gingerbread bisquits. Goes without saying, I went nuts over the new makeup and body products- but the thing I enjoyed the most was the fun and optimistic atmosphere in the store, which is something that is missing a lot these days. Down with misery, I say!
So, what's to expect this time of year at the Body Shop?
Every Christmas, the Body Shop brings out three bodycare ranges. Cranberry Joy is fruity and lovely, it always makes an entrance every year. Vanilla Bliss is the one for the vanilla lovers out there; the body butters smells exactly like vanilla pudding! Ginger Sparkle is the one I'm predicting to be the best-seller of the three collections: that gingerbread man on the front is so damn cute, don't you think?
Now, here's the new makeup bits:
The one product that (to me) stands out from the rest is the new limited-edition shades from the Colourglide Shine lipstick range. Colourglide Shine lipsticks have a sheer and glossy formula, but the old shades had too much shimmer for my liking. These new shades, despite having some shimmer, it's actually so fine that it manages to look very flattering on the lips. With the exception of the caramel/brown colour on the far right, the rest three shades are just brilliant. I can't rave about these lipsticks enough!
The glittery Sparkler in the vintage-inspired spray bottle is such a cult product from the Body Shop: no Christmas makeup collection is complete without it. There's also a second highlighting option, the Dazzling Rocks that contain golden and bronze shimmery beads that weigh -hold your breath- 60gr of product!
There's also two eyeshadow palettes with some beautiful and wearable shades;
Smoky Moonstone (top right) is more neutral and should flatter all eye colours,
Smoky Copper (bottom left) would look amazing on blue or green eyes. Four new shades have been added to the Metallic Eye Definer pencils. These ones are nothing like the old metallic pencils I've reviewed in this post: they're equally as soft but with more pigment and better staying power than the old ones.
But, enough with the makeup; as I'm sure you're familiar with it already, the Body Shop is a fantastic place to shop gifts for your loved ones- and yourself ;)
Below I've taken a few pics with some gift options for reference, along with their prices:
The most sought-after gift set from the Body Shop! Ginger Sparkle gift set 26,00€
Lastly, we were all given a goodie bag with a few TBS products- I'm already in love with the red lipstick that I'm seriously considering to buy a back-up. It is that good.
If you have any review requests (apart from the candy, obviously), don't hesitate to ask ;)
If anything, you'll most enjoy the festive spirit once in the Body Shop; one way or another, it will surely put a smile on your face! If only all the shops in town were already decorated with Christmas ornaments and laden with holiday gifts, sigh...
So, what do you think of the new seasonal collections by the Body Shop?
Will you be hauling anything just in time for Christmas?
