Are you a fan of D&G Light Blue perfume?

Hello my lovelies!

I'm assuming that most of you are big fans of designer brand perfumes. I know because I am myself.
Some of you might even think of your next buy, browsing around the isles of Sephora.

Except that, if you're living in Greece, well let's face it: you have to be tight with your money :(

But, my lovely readers, I have good news for you!

Meet Zara's perfume.

Name? Vintage.
Packaging? Pretty.
Smell? A knock-off for Light Blue by D&G. For real!

The best part: its price; 7.95 euros.
For a 30 ml pretty little bottle of a scent that is recognisable as an expensive fragrance, it's a steal!

Zara's perfume line is constantly updated with new products, in a variety of scents/bottles/sizes.
So you can be 100% sure that you'll find a bargain that suits your style.

Anyone tried a Zara perfume?
Would you compromise with cheaper stuff, if it performs as high end products?
Share your thoughts ;)

A small Mac haul

Hello my lovelies!

Last week I did some Mac shopping...

Mac Prep+Prime Eye, Mac Angel Lipstick

I've been meaning to get the Prep+Prime Eye ever since my Art Deco eyeshadow primer completely dried out...
So, here it is! I love the sparkly cap and the pot with the wide bottom- no more scratching the surface with my nails, trying to get to the bottom!!! My neat&tidy self is so excited ;)
I have to play with it a little more to give you a proper review. So far, I have mixed feelings about it. But, we'll see...

Then I looked at the lipstick counter, browsed around and got Angel lipstick.
Oh my, what a lovely pale pink shade! It brings out my girly, playful me. I love, love, love it!!!
It's officially a favourite!

So, have you bought anything from Mac recently? Share your faves below ;)

Dame Edna!

Hello my lovelies!

This is just a quick post, as I'm leaving today and won't have a proper Internet service until Sunday, when I'm back in Athens :(

I'd like to share with you one of my favourite stand-up comedy acts; it's by Barry Humphries, aka Dame Edna.

I ADORE Dame Edna! So hilarious and whitty, I can't express enough the genius of the man...
Never tired of watching this clip, it makes me LOL every-single-time =D

I don't know how to embed a second video, so here you can watch Dame Edna ripping off Pierce Morgan from America's/Britain's got talent. Hysterical!!!

Who is your all-time favourite comedian? Leave me a comment below ;)

Korres, we have a problem...

Hello my lovelies!

I'm writing this post to address something to you:

My body skin is in the worst state ever; feels very dehydrated, even flaky on areas, looking old and I hate it. I tried exfoliating in different ways, didn't work.

For the past few months, I've been using the Korres body milks after my daily shower (religiously). First it was a bottle with Citrus, now it's the Mint tea one. And I believe they have a lot to do with my skin's condition. Mind you, my skin was never dry at all. My face is very oily and my stomach area and back (body parts I don't put moisturiser on) are perfectly healthy.

So I stopped using body moisturiser- it's been a week now and my skin, although not 100% healthy again, is definitely in a better condition.

To Korres defence, my skin was already dried up from another body cream prior using the Korres body milk. But, after using Korres it got a lot worse!

So I'm asking you: have you ever experienced a similar problem with Korres body milks? And, if you know any home remedies for baby-soft skin, I'd be so grateful if you shared it with me. Thanks ;)

The Body Shop eyeshadow brushes

Hello my lovelies!

These are three eyeshadow brushes from the Body Shop that I currently own.

Overall: nice quality, pretty durable, easy to wash and dry, with a plastic handle that allows the brush to stand on its own.

Top to bottom: Smudger, Line Softener, Eyeshadow Blender

Smudger: this is not your average sponge-tip applicator; it has a much larger head which makes it perfect for packing on eyeshadow all over the lid. I find that sponge-tips work best with shimmery eyeshadows and pigments, as the sponge absorbs some of the product- thus minimising the risk of fall-out on your cheeks :)

Line Softener: a sponge-tip with a fine pointy end; I mostly use it for smudging black eyeshadow over my black eye pencil, it's also good for tracing a precise line in the crease.

Eyeshadow Blender: absolutely love this brush! It applies a uniform wash of colour on the lid and blends it beautifully... If I was on a trip, this is the only brush I would take with me. With synthetic hair.

So, have you tried any make-up brushes from the Body Shop? Please post it below ;)

On a sidenote, tomorrow I'm popping into Mac. I'm fancing the Prep+Prime eye, so let me know if you've tried it ;)

Small Art Deco haul

Hello my lovelies!

How was your week?

Today I went for a little make-up shopping; I headed to the Art Deco counter and picked two eyeshadows and one lipstick.

As I've mentioned before, my aim is to get 12 Art Deco eyeshadows and fit them in the so-called Magnum Beauty Box! This time I got a frosty black shade and a shimmery grey. Don't they look pretty?

Adding last year's purchases, I now own 5 of them... 7 more and I'm done!
Any recommendations are welcome ;)

And of course, I couldn't resist buying one more of these lovely, moisturising lipsticks! My previous purchase left me more than satisfied, so I had to get me one more ;)

This is in shade 40, a lovely pinky nude that looks very close to Hue lipstick by Mac. But sometimes I feel I prefer it over Hue...

I don't know if it's only me, but I find Mac lipsticks can be very drying to the lips and accentuate those tiny little fine lines! In contrast, this Art Deco lipsticks moisturises my lips and even when most of it has been rubbed off, my lips still feel comfortable and look healthy.

Oh, and Ps: notice the new layout and backround? I did it all by myself, took me more than 3 hours to figure things out but finally, I managed. This black/white stripe pattern is so "me", I'm really happy with it and I hope you enjoy it, too!
Please excuse the rest of the mess, now I have to work out the typewriting, colours, new pictures and elements, etc... We'll get there, one piece at a time ;)

Two eye masks and one eye cream by Apivita

Hello my lovelies!

Just recently, after removing my makeup, I discovered a few fine lines around my eyes. Big deal, you might think. Well, as a solid sign of growing older, it was terrifying...

So I decided to pay a little more attention looking after the under eye area, while trying out some different product formulas available in the market.

Having used two eye creams from Korres and not being satisfied, I headed to the Apivita counter.

First off, I purchased two eye masks; and this was because I couldn't decide which one to get! You see, they are a lot different.

The first one is the anti-fatigue eye patches with rose extract.

Usage: You peel them off from the transparent paper, place it under the eyes, relax for 15 minutes and take them off.

Did I see any improvements on dark circles/puffiness/fine lines? No, for sure.

The second sachet is an anti-ageing eye mask with grape.

Usage: you take a small amount and spread it under your eyes right before you go to bed, sleep with it, and rinse it off in the morning.

Again: results? None! Plus I woke up every day to see a ghostly me in the mirror...

So then I bought the Aqua Vita eye cream, same brand. And finally, I'm satisfied!

It has 95% natural origin; it's a pleasure to use; feels moisturising but not greasy at all; makes my concealer spread like a dream on top of it; my fine lines seem to deminish because of the moisturising texture of this cream... I love it!

So, concluding this post:

If you're looking for an "instant fix" for dark circles/puffiness/fine lines around the eyes, you probably won't find a miracle cure. Instead, invest in a good eye cream- in the long term, the skin around the eyes will feel much more comfortable and look "rested"... And this is priceless!

Speaking of which, this Apivita eye cream cost me around 20 euros.

Anyways, please let me know if you've tried anything of the brand- or share your favourite eye cream ;)

Ikea, baking, late summer nails ramble

Hello my lovelies!

How you've been?

First of all... OMG, IT'S RAINING!!! And I'm so excited! Rain and snowfall are a-l-w-a-y-s welcome by me. Please make me happy by aggreing with me for a minute, I'll feel a lot more of a "normal" person =D

On a second note, my computer is finally back from service- so I'm able to ramble, and ramble again ;)

Randomness from past week:

Browsing @Ikea. Fun times!
These are the edibles we brought home...

Including:
Gingerbread biscuits
Fried onion bits
Some cheese, like a sponge at the touch, made by some monks (!?!)
Salami made of reindeer meat. Poor thing...
a Bread mix with lingonberry. This I'm intending to knead and bake, all by myself. Yep!

Then, browsing at my favourite website for dessert recipes made me craving for something sweet. I opted for an old-fashioned apple pie, in an attempt to bring something of the Fall into this unbearingly hot, sticky greek summer weather!

My tip: use Granny Smith apples for the filling- they give a sour kick to the dish, which is soooo appetiting. No recipe used here, just adding ingredients until they reached the desiring sugar levels/quantity.

See, I got a little creative at the top...

Simply delicious! Needless to say, it was gone in no time!

Oh, the rain stopped. Damn it :(
Now I'm left with yesterday's choice of nail colour...

Quite summery, don't you think? Totally out of place!
(Erre Due in #200, a neon colour, something between pink and orange)

So, tell me: What are your favourites from Ikea food?
And, do you enjoy baking like me?
Do share ;)

Happy blogging and reading and commenting to everyone!
